Day 5: Friday May 14th

 Today Mallie and I had some time in the morning before work. We went on a walk and laid on the beach for a bit. Afterwards we drove to work. It was a slow day and we didn't sell too much. Christine, one of our bosses talked more about the sealions. On the way back from work Mallie had a panic attack driving on the freeway. She pulled over and had to get her bearings before continuing on the journey. She reminded me of sea lion in that moment because she made her way across unknown waters, just like a sealion. For dinner we ate cesar salad with Mallies mom and her friend. It was a lovely end to a action packed day.

Day 4: Thursday May 12th

 Today we woke up early and got a lovely head start to our day by getting a smoothie. Afterwards, we made our way to Huntington Beach for another day at the Kiosk. We sold some merchandise and again voiced our support for the Marine Mammal Rescue Center.  It was much warmer today than it was yesterday. I felt as though we were really making a difference with the attention we were bringing to the center. For lunch Mallie and I took a journey to the grocery store to find some snacks. It was definitely hard to keep our vegan mindset as we were tempted. We found some good vegan options and then went back to work. In the evening we ate some soup and watched the sunset.

Day 2, Tuesday May 10th

 Today Mallie and I received a tour of the Marine Mammal Rescue center. We saw Harbor seals, Elephant seals and sealions. They were all in various stages of recovery and it was sad to see many of the newest ones were malnourished. We got to see all the good work being done at the center to rehabilitate these creatures and then release them back into the wild. After the tour, Mallie and I traveled down to Huntington Beach to receive our training at their kiosk. We learned the ins and outs of how to work there and began preparations for selling merchandise and informing people about the center. We can't wait to share all that we have learned at the center during Express Fest!

Day 12: Friday May 20th

 Today I got back to my house at around 1 pm. It was actually much warmer than it had been in California. I unpacked to wash my clothes when I got to my room. The time had really flown by and I cant believe I am almost graduating. Working with the center was super fun and gave me more experience with customer service. It was a good trip but I am glad to be home.
